"World Renewable Energy Assembly" from November 26th to 30th, 2005
In the aftermath of the International Conference for Renewable Energies, “Renewables 2004” in Bonn, the global search for new approaches to enhance the growth of renewable energy technologies is continuing. In November 2005, Bonn will be, once again, the centre of these efforts.

Further improvements required to tap the country’s wind and other renewable energy potentials
The Czech Parliament has adopted a new feed-in law for renewable energy at the end of March which was published at the beginning of May. The new legislation includes a shift towards a feed-in tariff scheme which has been the main driver in the internationally leading wind markets.

25% by 2020
Today a joint declaration urging for an EU directive in the field of renewable heating and cooling was presented by a large group of supporters. Initiated by the European Renewable Energy Council, the declaration calls upon the EU Institutions to act in the missing field of legislation: the neglected giant of renewable heating and cooling.

With regard to the car industry´s legal action against the enactment for climate protection of the Californian administration, the German parliamentarian, president of EUROSOLAR and general chairman of the World Council for Renewable Energy (WCRE) declares:

In 2004, EUROSOLAR awards the 11th time the European Solar Prize for outstanding examples and initiatives for the utilization of Renewable Energies. Since 1994, this Prize has been awarded in various categories.

On the first day of the 3rd World Wind Conference, held in Beijing from the 1st to 4th of November, member of the German Parliament Hermann Scheer and Minister for the Environment Jürgen Trittin have been awarded by the World Wind Energy Association. With the award the conference honoured Germany’s leading position in wind energy, to which both politicians contributed substantially. Furthermore both laureates were awarded for their international engagement in promoting wind energy.
