EUROSOLAREUROSOLAR Press Release, April 11th, 2003

Following the resolution of the German Federal Government to support the initiative for the establishment of an "International Renewable Energy Agency" (IRENA) the manager of EUROSOLAR Irm Pontenagel declared: "The resolution of the Federal German Parliament from April, 10, 2003 supports the German Government initiative for the establishment of IRENA, which is the first official political step on the way to the establishment of this new international government organization."

The idea for IRENA was developed by EUROSOLAR.

In addition, EUROSOLAR was organized in June 2001 in Berlin at an international impulse conference. The resolution of the Federal German Parliament relies expressly on the work done during this conference. This international agency for renewable energies will overcome the apologetic state, as there are existing organizations for the world-wide promotion of atomic energy and for fossil energy supply in the international institution system, but still none which concentrates fully and completely on the promotion of the renewable energies.
