WCREWCRE Press Release, October 24th, 2005

World Renewable Energy Assembly, November 26th to 30th, 2005 in Bonn/Germany

Mr Sigmar Gabriel, designated new German minister for the Environment, will hold his first programmatic speech on renewable energy at the World Renewable Energy Assembly (WREA) in Bonn.

Together with the UNESCO and other international organisations, the World Council for Renewable Energy (WCRE) is inviting to the WREA which is entitled “World Renewable Energy Acceleration: No more time to waste”. EUROSOLAR, the European Association for Renewable Energy, is organising the event, including the 2nd International Parliamentary Forum on Renewable Energies.

During the last years, Germany has become the global political, technological and industrial motor for renewables. In this context, the first programmatic speech of Mr Gabriel produces interest on national and international level as German energy policy is expected to continue playing the role of an international outrider for renewables.
