"World Renewable Energy Assembly" from November 26th to 30th, 2005

In the aftermath of the International Conference for Renewable Energies, “Renewables 2004” in Bonn, the global search for new approaches to enhance the growth of renewable energy technologies is continuing. In November 2005, Bonn will be, once again, the centre of these efforts.

The World Council for Renewable Energy already set up a platform for more than 500 non-governmental delegates during the 2004 Bonn Renewables Conference. At the same time, about 300 members of national parliaments met at the International Parliamentary Forum on Renewable Energies at Bonn.

The WCRE now wants to continue this progress towards a renewable energy future with the upcoming World Renewable Energy Assembly in Bonn from November 26th to 30th, 2005.

Chaired by Hermann Scheer, General Chairman of the WCRE, President of EUROSOLAR and Alternative Nobel Prize laureate, the conference will focus on accelerating the introduction of renewable energies and combating fossil fuel privileges. In this context, the World Renewable Energy Assembly particularly wants to counter a Nuclear Renaissance.

The World Renewable Energy Assembly includes the 3rd World Renewable Energy Policy Forum and the 2nd International Parliamentary Forum on Renewable Energy. Several hundred delegates will meet in workshops and panels. Participants will include parliamentarians, members of administration, scientists, representatives from the business and finance sector as well as from development and environmental NGOs.
